The Nintendo 3DS
At E3 nintendo announced another addition to the DS family the 3DS which will play ds games in 3D (as the name states)
The full guide!
Size (matters)
It is round about the same size and weight of the DSlite.
(the fat) Controller
It hasthe regular, D-pad X, Y, B and A buttons, a stylus and the L and R buttons. Aswell as that there's some new things... There's a thumb slider which is essentally a analogue stick It will be a light grey on ALL 3DS models. Also like the wii there is a home button which lets you pop back to the 3DS screen without quiting your game. (allowing you to access internet and notebook etc) It will have 2 screens but this time the top screen is a widescreen display (400x240 pixels). But more im portantly it wil be able to show full 3D without glasses. The bottom screen will be a touch screen and has an increased resolution of 320x240 to allow for sharper and more detailed graphics.
Oh Snap... (the camara's)
It has 3 of 'em the inside one is the same as the DSi but there are 2! of them on the outside. This embeles you to take fully 3D pictures. the resolution is the same as the DSi's camaras.
Pass the parcel (street and spot pass in detail
The DSi will have 2 new simaler modes which both focus on your DS being in sleep mode. the 1st being spotpass which lets you download the latest demo's on DS news when you walk past a hot spot. Street pass is when you walk past someone else with thier DS on sleep mode it downloads there info. Streetpass wil also feature in Super street fighter IV: 3D edition.
Preinstalled software
The 3DS will have a numbver of things prestalled including the camara, street and spot pass a sound studio and more intrestingly a Mii studio. Yes the 3DS will have miis. you can transfer them form your wii or make them. More intresting of the ways is you can take a picture of someone and it will draw a mii of them, clever eh? There is more preinstalled software to br announced so hold on to your hats!
AR games
This has to be something that is gonna make gaming WAY more advance in the future. For all of you who don't know AR stands for Augmented reality. The 3DS comes with 6 cards each with a game on. The camara can tell which game you wanna play by the card. The only one they've shown is a one were a dragon comes out the table. A bold step in gaming...
DOWNLOAD
As with the DS/DSi and Wii the 3DS will be able to download and buy stuff via the Shop channel. These will include some DSiware games and some totally new ones. Also you will be able to tranfer DSi games. be warned the amount is limited. and SOME software can't be transfered. It will also feature the DS Virtual console. What we've wanted since the DSi. It's been confirmed that GB and GBC games will be there. GBA games ahvn't been confirmed. Super mario land and Links awakening DX are just some of the games that will be avalible.
Other stuff
It will have backwards compatability with the DSi. It hasn't been confirmed yet what will be included with the 3DS in the UK, but in Japan the box will contain a 3DS, a telescopic stylus, a recharging cradle (a bit like an iPod dock), an AC adaptor (for playing while it's charging), a 2GB SD card and six AR Cards for augmented reality games. Hopefully that won't change too much for the UK. The 3DS will arrive in Japan on 26 February 2011 and will cost 25,000 yen (£189). It will arrive in the west in March 2011 but the price has not yet been confirmed. It's worth noting that just because its Japanese price works out at £189 that doesn't necessarily mean that'll the exact price here. It may be more, it may be less. With the economy a bit hammered and the yen not doing too well though, there's a chance it might be more. Fingers crossed it's not, eh?

The games
Yes the 3DS will also have games belive it or not. These are some of them...
Mario Kart 3DS
This is the 9th mario kart (i counted the arcade ones) in it's series. After the wii one was praied by many will Nintendo keep the same formula?
"The Mario Kart 3DS demo is the most impressive"-CVG
The legend of Zelda Ocarina of time (remake)
One of the games for the 3DS is a remake of a absolute classic. Ocarina of time is brilliant and Nintendo will be reamking this in 3D! Here are some N64 and 3DS comparison shots
Will Update later
